Across Kalshi and Polymarket, the match is priced almost exactly the same: USA 50% to win, the draw at 29%, Paraguay at 22%.

A coin flip on the win market — which is not what most American fans want to hear about a home team facing the 41st-ranked side in the world. The USMNT are ranked 17th by FIFA. The market is not pricing a comfortable evening.

Paraguay are stubborn. They are 3-2-3 since the start of 2025. Kalshi has the USA at 1.5% to win the 2026 World Cup. Polymarket at 1.2%. Both markets agree the USMNT will most likely qualify from Group D — that probability sits at 82% — but winning the group is a different conversation at 39%.

The realistic ceiling the market is pricing is the round of 16, which it puts at around 55–60% probability. That matches the USMNT's historical pattern. They have reached the round of 16 in four of the last six tournaments and gone no further. The market is not pricing a home-tournament breakthrough — semifinalists and beyond sits at roughly 7–9%.

Spain are leading the tournament winner market at 16.5%, France at 16%, England and Portugal at 11% each. At 1.2%, the USA are a long way from that conversation.

Pulisic and the Attack

Christian Pulisic is the clearest threat. He scored 8 goals for AC Milan in Serie A this season and found the net in the pre-tournament win over Senegal. He has 33 international goals in 86 appearances, fifth all-time for the USA.
